Happy Fall, my friends

Happy Fall, my friends

Happy Fall my Friends!!
I’m very excited the FALL Is HERE! It’s such a beautiful time of year. I enjoy all the special activities, unique to this season. Pumpkin patches, hay rack rides, football, leaves falling, crisper weather, bonfires and on and on.
AND with a new season upon us, it’s a great time to do some healthy, self examination.. Asking God to show us areas that may be keeping us stuck. Keeping us from enjoying the beautiful peace and Joy we can experience as followers of Jesus Christ!
One area God has shown me is the negative action of COMPLAINING. Something I can struggle with myself. It’s a flaw in our character that can creep out of our mouths before we realize it. It can be fed by our own selfishness, feelings of self-pity, or not counting our blessings. Spending time with others that have grumbling attitudes can send us into a complaining, gossipy spirit very quickly. God says, “Do ALL things without grumbling, (complaining) or arguing so that you may become blameless and pure children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will SHINE among others like STARS in the sky!” Phil 2:14-15.
Complaining or grumbling causes us to see the worst in others. It does NOT honor God and hinders us from growth and change. We often don’t intend to end up in a grumbling mood but when se have situations in our lives that are causing us frustration or pain, it’s easy to move in that direction. I have to CONTINUALLY ask God to show when I’m in that negative place and to please forgive me for my complaining spirit and remove it from me. I want to have a clean heart that God can use to help others and honor him! I also have AMAZING accountability partners to help me see when I’m thinking with dishonest thoughts (which turn into negative actions if acted upon) As I’ve allowed God to change my heart and thinking, I notice my grumbling attitudes MUCH quicker then I use too but I can STILL struggle with it. God also reminds us In Phil 4 to Think on what is RIGHT, lovely, pure, admirable, noble, excellent and praiseworthy! This doesn’t mean to ignore situations/people/feelings that are genuinely causing us frustration or pain but to ask God to show us TRUTH. Then talk to a HEALTHY FRIEND to help us evaluate our thinking and actions. We need to pray and ask God to forgive us of a complaining spirit and please remove it. If we have someone who has been hurt by our grumbling, write out a “mercy letter” to them” (outline of letters found on earlier posts) God is so lovingly faithful and picks us up EVERY time we seek Him and even when we don’t! Praise God for that!!! God bless YOU! via Facebook Pages http://ift.tt/2bbN1dO
