Hurting

Hurting

It’s a great day to Love Jesus!
Have you ever thought, “Why won’t the people in my life listen to me and take the incredibly, helpful, advice I so willingly give them?” I certainly have. This is especially true when we experience these individuals hurting others, themselves or us. But, when we are hurting it is quite easy to see others fault’s and focus on those rather than deal with our own pain, hurt, faults, flaws or issues. Jesus says in Matthew “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” He tells us to remove the plank from our own eye so we can see clearly to remove the speck in our brother’s eye. He is telling us to do SELF EXAMINATION in OUR lives, hearts and actions. We have ZERO power over how others behave, regardless of how destructive it might be. I “tried” to make another person change their actions for many, many years. It was POINTLESS to do this. I, and you, can ONLY bring changes to our own life AND this can ONLY come from GOD making these changes in us. God honors our healthy actions as we are obedient to Him. We MUST protect ourselves and remove ourselves, if necessary, from dangerous situations, including, emotional, mental and spiritual danger as well. I stayed in a very toxic, abusive situation, for far too long, because I didn’t TRUST God with my future as I should have. When we try to run our own lives, (not allowing God to do it) we continue to look outside of ourselves for validation, pain relief, value, worth and acceptance. Our worth, value, and acceptance MUST come from our relationship with Jesus! NO human being can give you this. Jesus says, “I am the vine and you are the branches, if you abide in me and I in you, you will bare much fruit, apart from me, you can do NOTHING.” It’s vital we understand this and move towards God dependency and NOT self- dependency OR another human being dependency. Rather than take responsibility for MY actions and MY victim state I perpetuated, I found it easy to look at other people’s “stuff” and want to focus on that. In saying this, we must have healthy boundaries In our lives as well. We are each created in Gods Image and have great value because of that. We are not to allow ourselves to be abused. Jesus died to set captives FREE!
Going back to the post “Notebooks Ready” from May 12th 2016, let’s work towards victory! 1st Cor 11:28 tells us “a man must examine himself!” Psalms 139:24 says, “See if there is any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way” If you have taken the action to write out the people or situations that you have OR have had difficulty with, NOW is the time to be obedient to what God calls us to do for HEALING. James 5:6 says, “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” PRAY for God to lead you to a discipleship partner if you don’t already have one! Someone you can share your notebook with. Someone you TRUST and READ IT TO THEM! It’s a scary thought, I know, but SO WORTH IT! It brings tremendous liberation to do this. God’s principles WORK when we do them! I would be happy to be that accountability/discipleship partner you might need. Please reach out to me if you need guidance. TRUST, ACTION, OBEDIENCE. Blessings, my friends!!
