Renewing

Renewing

Hey Friends! Today God is directing me to share TRUTHS about “Renewing of the Mind” God tell us in Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” God created us and He knows we need our minds to be free of clutter, toxic thinking, spinning thoughts, worry, fear, doubt, indecision, bitterness, resentments and unforgiveness. At times we need to get OUT OF OUR HEADS! We spend way too much time up there! I know I do! Racing around in our heads doesn’t produce productive servants. I know in my own life, I can take a single topic, spin it around in my head for a while and next thing I know Ive created FEAR, anxiety and chaos that wasn’t there before I started thinking about said topic! Our Heavenly Creator understands our broken, sinful, corrupt minds and wants healing for us. God calls us to action and obedience and He has led me to a few healthy exercises that help calm my racing mind down. For instance, If I’m having difficulty with a person I take action! I pray for God to give me clarity of what He wants me to see, then start writing! An activity that really helps, as simple as it sounds, is to WRITE out scriptures. Scriptures that speak to you and give you comfort. I use to make my kids write out scriptures for disciplinary reasons. They were not excited about doing it but it helped them remember Gods Truth and keep it in their hearts.
Another activity I do is to make a list of 5 things and write 2 to 3 sentences pertaining to them. The 5 things are listed below.
With the issue I’m dealing with I write out-
1. Where Is my human selfishness showing up in this situation
2. Where is my thinking being dishonest/twisted, creating a bigger issue, etc…
3. What is my resentment with this person or issue
4. What is my FEAR.. usually there is some level of untruthful fear (created in our heads)
5. What is MY part in is situation. We usually have some part in a negative situation. Recognizing it, admitting it, and seeking forgiveness (when needed) gives us FREEDOM!
Writing these out helps me gain perspective and clarity.
“God has not given us a spirit of FEAR but of power and of LOVE and of SOUND MIND!” 2 Tim 1:7. Praise God for that! We need to be obedient and take positive action for Gods healing to take place. God honors our willing action we take to grow closer to Him! Pray, Write, serve others, be accountable, TRUST GOD!
